Hilton Head island has seen a dramatic increase in tourism over the last year or two. Largely, one is led to believe because of the previous years’ hurricane damage to the east coast and other popular tourism destinations. Hilton Head Island has a tremendous infrastructure and after picking ourselves up and putting the pieces back together we began to see opportunities for growth and improvement. These changes are happening as we speak and the amount of tourism we received last year and already this year- so early in the season- is striking!
Every April Hilton Head Island is host to the RBC Heritage and this year marked its 50th Anniversary. This was an incredibly successful year for the Heritage and we saw a boost to the amount of traffic in local businesses, restaurants and grocery stores. The uptick in the level of tourist traffic here on the island is normally at its peak in midsummer but after tapering off in the fall of last year a little, it held steady over the winter months and has begun to rise again! We look forward to meeting the many who will call Hilton Head ‘Home’ for a weekend or a month or 3 months! Who knows? Perhaps we will have the chance to call you a neighbor?
